Ambassadors Against Wahala

For students, alumni, community groups and any Nigerian who wants to help keep their loved ones and property safe. Report what is happening around you, verify what others report, and help keep your community informed.

Two tracks, one title

Both tracks share the same ambassador status. Academic ambassadors also get data and analytics access.

Non-Academic

Individuals, old girlsโ€™ and old boysโ€™ associations, alumni bodies, community and civic groups.

  • Official "Ambassador Against Wahala" title and certificate
  • Early access to new app features before public release
  • Access to the Wahala founders and team through a private WhatsApp community
  • Recognition as an ambassador, plus a signed letter of recommendation on request
  • An invitation to the end-of-cohort ambassador meetup

Academic

University students, student governments, clubs, professors, researchers and teachers.

  • Official "Ambassador Against Wahala" title and certificate
  • Early access to new app features before public release
  • Access to the Wahala founders and team through a private WhatsApp community
  • Recognition as an ambassador, plus a signed letter of recommendation on request
  • Free access to data and analytics through the Wahala API
  • Co-authorship or acknowledgment on research based of Wahala data & analytics
  • An invitation to the end-of-cohort ambassador meetup

What we ask of you

Same expectations on both tracks.

  • Report or verify incidents in your community on the Wahala app, daily
  • Share a short weekly post or video on how Wahala helps your community. We may feature these videos on our social media and websites
  • Stay responsive in the ambassador WhatsApp community and a brief regular check-in
  • Keep your reports accurate: at least 4 verified reports a month

How it works

  1. Apply

    Fill in the form below and tell us about a safety issue you have faced. It should take you 10 minutes or less

  2. Hear from us

    If accepted, a Wahala team member contacts you directly and stays your point of contact.

  3. Onboard and start

    Complete a short orientation. Each term runs one month and can be renewed.

Open only to people aged 18 or older. A club, school or organisation may apply through an 18+ representative, and only its members aged 18 or older can become ambassadors.
